Annotation #9
http://courses.dce.harvard.edu/~musie139/2009/. A History of Blues in America. Charles Sawyer. Web. 25 Oct. 2009.
Charles Sawyer, the other of The Arrival of B.B. King and blues musician, uses a creative way to tell the history of blues at Harvard University. His class videos basically explain his meeting of B.B. King to his students and other Blues musicians that made a big influence on blues. He has thought his students also about the instruments they used. He briefly explains the where they played and when. He also talks about the person himself and their death (if they died). He methodically puts that person in the time he was big among the country. Usually he talks of the same person in two courses if that person is fairly famous. Sawyer's creative teaching allow the student to get a better understanding of those famous people. This relates to my reaserch by giving facts about famous blues artists that influenced blues.

http://www.livinblues.com/roots.asp. Blues Roots. Amigo Web Services. Web. 25 Oct. 2009
It gives a brief introduction to blues, giving a big hook. It then talks about its African influence and talks about a Griot which could've been the first person to play blues. Then the article talks about influencial musicians. The intended audiance is probably blues musicians themselves, and the casual reader. This relates to my reaserch by getting a better understanding of who started playing blues.

topic sentence
Blues music was very influential not to only rock-and-roll and hip-hop but it influenced the very world around it, from helping oppressed African Americans express their feelings to giving people enough hope to fight for equality.

today i started to research about the twenties and how the music of the twenties have been affected by the blues. Jazz which is a type of music that been highly influenced by blues, was the music of the time. The twenties were even named after the music "The Jazz Age". It was a great time for music, America was on an economic incline, which gave many musicians the opportunity to come up and get noticed. Another thing that helped out the blues/jazz music scene was the prohibition of alcohol. It caused the opening of speigiezies(a secret bar) were music needed to be played to entertain the customers.

NHD for today
i learned that blues started in the 1890's. Blues was strongly influenced by slave and work music as well as folk songs. I also learn that in the early 20th century a lot of the Blues were made using the "a-a-b sequence". This was done by having one lie, a repeated twice then followed by another line, b.
Service learning
One thing I think would be helpful to others would be going back to my old school and talking to the 8th graders about high-school. I wish i talked to 9th graders before I entered high-school. I did not relive how important grades were until i came here so if somebody would have told me that last year i may have been more prepared.

Bill of rights.
1. The bill of rights are basic rights of united states citizens.
2.The three most important rights to me are the First, Fourth, and the 7th amendments. They are the most important to me because I have a strong opinion on most things so the first amendment helps me their. The fourth amendment is just something that makes me feel safe because i know that my property is safe. And the seventh amendment is good because one judge could have a unfair opinion of the defendant.
3.Rights have changed allot over over the last 200 years including equal rights of females and minorities.
4.One thing that i would add to the bill of rights would be the right to defend your property because the laws don't fully protect people against break-ins and robbery .
5.I pretty much agree with the 10 amendments.

Personality
Personality to me is how things affect people, how the enviorment affects a person and how a person views their surroundings. Personality has to do with every single dissuasion every single person makes. I think that personality is one of the most influential parts of the human anatomy(that is except for organs). In my opinion personalities are curses disguised as blessings. Sure they give us the ability to make our own choices but it is also what gives other people reasons to push around other (at least in their mind). Because someone thinks differently or likes different things people feel the need to treat them differently. Just because I wear Tripp pants and listen to metal music i am automatically stereo-typed as some "emo" or goth kid. It is stupid why don't you get to know me before you start to judge me.

World Problem
One problem that i think affects the world is greed. Greed is one of the roots of all fighting in the world. If their was no greed in people then nobody would be compelled to kill their neighbor because he wants to claim his neighbors property. Their would be no reason to rob someone walking down the street. As soon as we put a value on something their is going to be somebody who wants it. This isn't a problem unless their is not enough of that now valued item, even if just one person doesn't have one over time jealousy will spawn .
At this point people start t argue about who is the owner or who gets to use this item. Disputes like this as you probably know if not handled in the right way can escalate into something much more. Soon their will be groups that are oppressed that will want to be treated fairly. One example of this is in America after slavery was abolished African Americans still did not have the same rights as the Caucasian citizens did. So in that case the valued possession would be rights. To combat the oppression the African Americans protested so that they could be treated equally. The only possible way that i can conceive to stop greed would be to take all worldly possessions and return human beings to a state of nature. I do not think this is possible but it would be nice
